VietNamNet Bridge - This Lunar New Year festival, local people and tourists have the chance to enjoy the beauty of Japanese cherry trees in full bloom in the resort town of Sa Pa.

This is the second time Japanese cherry trees have come into bloom on the foot of Fansipan Mountain.

The Japan-Vietnam company presented the trees to the Sa Pa district People’s Committee in 2003 to mark the tourist resort’s centennial anniversary.

Along with the tourist resort city of Da Lat in the Central Highlands, Sa Pa is the second place in Vietnam that has been successful in growing Japanese cherry trees.
